Built for the people others depend on
Training for Emergency and Rescue Operations
Emergency and rescue work can take teams well beyond maintained roads. Reaching a remote incident, supporting a search or moving equipment across difficult terrain requires more than familiarity with a vehicle’s controls.
Our training helps organizations prepare operators to assess conditions, understand vehicle limitations and maintain control while working within their department’s procedures.
Fire Departments
Off-road access, equipment transport and vehicle support for rural, remote and wildland operations.
Paramedic Services
Operator preparation for remote access and vehicles used to support patient movement, with attention to stability, occupant protection and equipment loads.
Search and Rescue Teams
Vehicle skills for search assignments, team deployment and equipment transport across unfamiliar terrain.
Emergency Management & Public Safety
Training for personnel supporting emergency coordination, remote site access and community response operations.
Conservation & Parks Responders
Practical vehicle training for staff responsible for visitor assistance, trail access and emergency support in outdoor settings.
Volunteer & Community Response Teams
Structured operator training for organized teams using off-road vehicles to support searches, evacuations and emergency logistics.
One provider, multiple vehicle platforms
ATV Rider Safety Training
Hands-on training in inspections, controls, braking, body positioning, slopes, obstacles and terrain assessment. Emphasis is placed on rider control, vehicle limitations and secure equipment loads during off-road access.
UTV Operator Safety Training
Practical training for Utility Task Vehicles, also known as side-by-sides. Topics include vehicle dynamics, seat belts and occupant protection, rollover prevention, passenger considerations and the effects of equipment loads on handling.
XTV / ARGO Operator Training
Specialized operator training for multi-wheel extreme terrain vehicles used in wet, soft and remote environments. Instruction addresses steering, braking, terrain assessment, load distribution and the limitations of the specific machine and its configuration.
Snowmobile Operator Training
Training for teams whose response areas include winter trails and remote snow-covered terrain. Topics include inspections, protective equipment, braking, visibility, changing snow conditions and route decisions.
Trailer Towing Safety & Operations
For personnel transporting response vehicles and equipment between stations, staging areas and deployment locations. Training covers trailer inspections, coupling, loading and unloading, load securement, backing and towing considerations for open and enclosed trailers.
Emergency Operations Require More Than Knowing How to Drive
Urgency can place extra pressure on an operator’s decisions. Low light, steep or uneven terrain, changing weather and additional loads can quickly affect traction, stopping distance and vehicle stability.
Our training emphasizes controlled operation and sound judgement: choosing a suitable route, maintaining communication and recognizing when conditions exceed the capabilities of the vehicle or operator. Patient movement is considered within the limits of approved equipment, vehicle capacity and departmental procedures.
Training at Your Location or Ours
ON-SITE TRAINING
When a suitable training area is available, QuadTraining can travel to your station, training ground or operational location, allowing responders to train using the vehicles and conditions relevant to their duties.
We work with you to confirm the training space, vehicle platforms and practical objectives before the course.
QUADTRAINING LOCATIONS
Training can also be arranged at our Ontario training locations in Haliburton or Erin. These settings provide space for structured exercises and practical skill development.
QuadTraining machines may be available by arrangement, depending on the vehicle platform and course requirements.
Practical Training. Clear Documentation. Experienced Instruction.
Employer Documentation
Support your organization’s training records with documentation of course participation and practical evaluation. Tell us what your department needs to record so we can confirm the available documentation when arranging training.
Practical Operator Evaluation
Operators practise the skills covered in training and demonstrate their application through practical evaluation. This helps identify areas requiring further practice before deployment.
Course completion supports your organization’s operator preparation process. Your department determines authorization to operate, equipment-specific familiarization and readiness for assigned duties.
Experienced, Hands-On Instruction
QuadTraining combines professional rider and operator instruction with extensive small-engine mechanical experience. Training connects vehicle condition, operating technique and risk awareness to the decisions responders make in the field.
The focus is vehicle operation and safety. Clinical care, technical rescue qualifications and incident command remain within your organization’s specialist training and procedures.
Supporting Ontario Emergency and Rescue Teams
QuadTraining has provided operator training to fire departments, paramedic services and search and rescue organizations. We understand the importance of preparing teams to use off-road vehicles as working equipment in demanding environments.
